Road Scholar, the not-for-profit world leader in educational travel, and Del Webb, the nation's largest builder of active adult communities, have joined forces to provide learning and travel experiences for Del Webb residents in more than 50 communities across 20 states. This newly forged relationship will add further value to the active, enriching lifestyle that is emblematic of the Del Webb brand.
"Del Webb research and resident feedback finds that baby boomers have a strong desire to approach lifelong learning as they do life – actively," said Deborah Meyer, chief marketing officer for PulteGroup, Del Webb's parent company. "Through this relationship with Road Scholar, we're able to extend the Del Webb active lifestyle with opportunities to expand their knowledge through educational travel programs that enrich, enlighten and entertain."
Del Webb will provide residents nationwide with special opportunities, cost savings and exclusive access to a selection of national and international Road Scholar educational programs, informational sessions, seminars and lecture programs. In 2012, Del Webb residents will have the opportunity to experience an exclusive Road Scholar program in Costa Rica, or any of Road Scholar's other 6,500 programs. Additional planned departures for 2013 include Italy, the Grand Tetons, Banff, Canada, and an intergenerational educational adventure for Del Webb homeowners and their grandchildren.
"We are excited to enter into this relationship with Del Webb as our missions and audiences are similarly aligned," said Steve Lembke, vice president of Road Scholar Institutional Advancement. "Del Webb communities are well known for attracting active, engaged and curious adults who are ideal candidates to experience Road Scholar's stimulating learning experiences across the country and around the world."
